Your voice and saved places

Rinli stores the places you save, your notes, transcripts, tags, selected photos, favorites, visit status and routes. When you allow location access, Rinli uses location to help identify a place or show nearby saved spots. It does not track your location continuously in the background.

Voice recordings are stored in the app's private storage on the device where they were recorded. Speech transcription is requested only when on-device recognition is supported. When available, Apple's on-device Foundation Models organize your text. Rinli does not send recordings or full transcripts to a third-party AI service. Generated information can be inaccurate and can be edited.

Apple services

When iCloud is available, notes, transcripts, location information, selected photos and routes synchronize through your private CloudKit database under your Apple account. Original audio recordings do not sync through iCloud and are excluded from device backup; uninstalling the app or losing the device can therefore remove those recordings.

Apple Maps receives search terms and the search area when you look for a place, and location information needed to request maps, Look Around or directions. Rinli does not send your complete notes or audio recordings to Maps. Apple's services are also governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Photo selection uses Apple's system picker. Rinli receives only the items you choose, resizes and re-encodes them, and does not retain the original photo's camera or location metadata.

Retention, controls and deletion

You can edit your notes, change permissions in system Settings, choose audio retention in Rinli, export note and route data, and delete your library. The JSON export does not include audio or image files. Deleted spots normally remain recoverable in Trash for 30 days; expired items are cleaned when the app opens, and you can delete items permanently sooner. Changes to synchronized records propagate through iCloud when synchronization is available. Copies you export or send to others remain outside Rinli's control.

Advertising, diagnostics and support

Rinli has no advertising, tracking SDKs or third-party analytics. The developer does not operate a server receiving your library. If you choose to share diagnostics and usage information with app developers through Apple, Apple may provide crash reports and app usage information to help us improve Rinli. If you contact support, we receive your message and anything you choose to attach. Please avoid sending private recordings or precise personal locations unless they are needed for your request.
